Community Against Sexual Harm

The anti-trafficking and v.o.c.a. Programs are comprehensive programs that helped victims of sex trafficking access safe housing, medical and mental health care, employment and legal services as they stabilized their life. All participants receive case management services from a survivor advocate. 43 women secured stable housing.

Funding from the department of justice made it possible to develop valuable evaluation and data collection tools to track survivors of trafficking and their outcomes. Funding allowed the creation of a survivor advisory council and support materials, review of case management tiles, examine covid and sex trafficking, monitor data collection, analyze data sets, and provide recommendations for best practices.

The partnership with the cares foundation, one community health, and harm reduction services conducted 163 hiv tests to support early detection and prevention. Upon first interaction with cash, only 21% of women know their hiv status. Cash's goal is for 100% of clients to know their hiv status.with funding from the department of justice office for victims of crime, cash was able to implement a comprehensive services for survivors program to develop the capacity of cash to provide evidence-based programming to survivors of sex and labor trafficking in the sacramento region. Funding supported creatingoperating standards and protocols for a survivor-led model and created a community of practice to improve the region's ability to identify survivors and develop a crisis response program.the organization's center for women in sacramento, california, offers individual peer mentoring, case management, street outreach, wrap around services, and education to the community about the personal and social consequences of commercial sexual exploitation. In 2024, the center served approximately 545 women during drop-in hours. Cash served 5,533 meals to women and children and distributed 1,394 food boxes. They also facilitated 198 patient visits at the dignity health medical save haven and provided comprehensive case management services for survivors to 104 women. In addition, cash provided empowerment training to 183 women, helping them develop confidence, life skills, and personal growth, and engaged 57 youth in sessions focused on healthy relationships, personal identity, boundary setting, coping skills, and self-care.
