Cbkc owns and manages a shopping center located in an area of kansas city that previously lacked access to a grocery store and other essential community services. In 2024, the shopping center achieved an occupancy rate exceeding ninety-three percent (93%), ensuring that critical services continued to be available to the community. Today, the center serves more than 200,000 residents in kansas city's urban core.cbkc remains focused on managing and containing operating expenses to attract and retain high-quality tenants. A significant portion of the leased office space is occupied by nonprofit organizations that provide essential services to the surrounding underserved community. Cbkc also owns blue parkway towne center and 5008 prospect buildings with combined space of 75,000 square foot with occupancy rate of 94% on blue parkway towne center and 55% on 5008 prospect building.cbkc owns two grocery stores to ensure the continuation of food access in the area. The grocery stores provide employment opportunities to approximately 100 people further supporting job creation and community access to fresh food.
The mount cleveland redevelopment initiative has successfully transformed the community by delivering a substance abuse treatment center, a 143,000-square-foot federally qualified health center, a child and family development center, expanded office space, retail services, and 80 units of attractive, affordable duplexes and townhomes. This comprehensive redevelopment continues to drive revitalization in the urban core. Building on this success, cbkc is leading an initiative to revitalize the brush creek corridor through the development of a 250,000-square-foot mixed-use campus located within an opportunity zone. With an initial investment of $20 million, 60,000 square-foot office building with a projected total build-out of $70-90 million. The campus will feature commercial and mixed-use properties, targeting tenants such as nonprofit organizations, foundations, and public sector entities that provide essential services and employment opportunities to the urban core.in 2023, cbkc began site preparation for the 11-acre development, including infrastructure, parking, and roadwork. Construction of the first building commenced in november 2024, with an anticipated date of completion in the first quarter of 2026.
