Advocating a healthy non-violent environment for all people providing information, resources, and support necessary to help individuals move through crisis to develop and pursue their goals.

Programs

Economic crisis department coordinates four different programs to those who are in financial crisis and/or are homeless. Economic crisis shelter, economic crisis, homeless youth program and homeless adult program. Services include case management, individual and group counseling, emergency and transitional shelter, financial and material assistance, transportation, id/birth certificate acquistion and rent subsidy.

Sexual assault program provides emergency services to survivors of sexual abuse/assault, their families and significant others. Services include: 24-hour crisis hotline, emergency response to area hospitals by trained volunteers, short-term in-person counseling, advocacy to offer emotional support, information around medical treatment, police interviews and court proceedings and weekly support groups for survivors, significant others and teens who have experienced any type of sexual abuse or assault.

Expenses: $435K

The partner abuse and intervention program's goal is to help perpetrators learn new strategies, beliefs and choices to end their abusive behavior towards others and become accountable for their past abuse. The process of abuse intervention focuses on identifying abusive and controlling behaviors; examining influences that contribute to violence; discussing the effects of violence on the victims, children, and the perpetrators themselves; and learning new nonviolent behaviors as alternatives to abuse.
