Fund administration - the community foundation manages apprx 280 funds designed to simplfy philanthropy for local donors and to provide cost effective investments for local nonprofits. The foundation offers seven fund types to meet specific donor, nonprofit, and community philanthropic needs. Each fund can be structured in three different ways depending on the amount , expected duation, and forecasted activity. In 2024, the foundation received apprx 950 gifts, totaling $50.9 million, for these funds and processed over 3,000 grants, totaling $20.6 million, from our funds to benefit qualified charities working in a variety of fields throughout the u.s.

Expenses: $15.7MGrants: $15.4M

Discretionary grants, scholarships, & fellowships - 96% of the foundation's operational expenses are program service expenses, which includes old bill/tin cup, fund administration, discretionary grants, scholarships and other program services. The foundation's discretionary grant programs provide financial support to organizations that are effectively addressing important community needs in teton county, wy. Funding decisions for the compentitive grants program are made by a volunteer grants committee comprised of dedicated community members with diverse interests and experience. The youth philanthropy program introduces local high school students to strategic grantmaking. The micro grants program is designed as a timely funding mechanism. In 2024, the foundation's grant programs provided over $2.7 million to 128 organizations working in jackson hole and teton valley. The foundation's grants programs are funded by old bill's cochallengers and tin cup challengers, individual donors, and endowed funds held at the foundation.

Expenses: $3.9MGrants: $3.3M

Other program services - in addition to fund administration, old bill's fun run, and competitive grants and scholarships, the community foundation also supports local nonprofits by offering workshops on nonprofit management (e.g. Board development, grant writing, sustainability, etc.), coordinating networking and information sharing opportunities (e.g. Volunteerjh.org and a nonprofit list-serve) and providing technical assistance and consulting, as requested. In 2024, 233 participants (representing 190 different organizations) attended 12 classes, workshops, or networking events offered by the foundation. 30 nonprofits posted 72 volunteer opportunities on the volunteerjh website, and approximately 1,800 individuals subscribe to the nonprofit list-serve hosted by the foundation.
