Development: chn has developed, owns and manages more than 1,600 permanent supportive housing apartments located at over 140 different sites scattered throughout franklin county in 32 zip codes, including six suburban communities. As a real estate developer, chn acquires property, obtains zoning approvals, assembles financing and oversees projects through concept, design, engineering, bidding and construction phases. Developments include both new construction and acquisition and renovation of existing buildings. Chn uses many funding sources to develop its housing, including lowincome housing tax credits, tax-exempt bonds, state and local funding, and philanthropic grants.chn also uses the development process to form longterm neighborhood connections through its community acceptance approach. Chn proactively forms community advisory councils prior developing property to inform neighbors about chn and its housing models. Chn also solicits neighborhood input into the housing's design and operations. By offering a forum for ongoing communication, these councils provide the longterm relationships that connect chn and our future residents to our neighborhoods.
