Mission
Community Organizing for Racial Equity (CORE) works to deconstruct systemic inequities and achieve equitable outcomes for all people in Chatham County through education, organizing, and reconciliation.
Programs
3 programs
Organizing: Onboarded 1 organizer from areas with little to no involvement at CORE. Established partnership with Second Bloom of Chatham and the EMBRACe project. Conducted monthy focus groups to explore possible campaigns centered around specific challenge areas for communities in Chatham. Volunteer organizers seeking to take a leadership role have expanded relational networks to build a larger Chatham centered base.
Juneteenth: Over 2000 in attendance from across the Triangle Area in 2024. The theme was celebrating Black Artists.
Restoration Villages: Successfully rebranded to reflect our shift in language and intention to Restoration Villages and Community Healing. Successfully secured consistent facilitation - community facilitators sharing leadership and a consistent/sustainable planning process. Successfully improved marketing strategies and program evaluation.
