Mission

Our mission our mission is to help children convert ideas into world-changing actions through education, mentorship, and leadership opportunities. Our vision compasspoint mentorship envisions a world where every young person has the knowledge, skills, and social network to care for themselves and their communities when they enter adulthood.

Programs

3 programs

Committee programs the youth committee at compasspoint mentorship leads student-driven committees and special projects that build leadership, civic responsibility, and career readiness. Current committees include data science for social justice, sustainability, public art, history and culture, and wellness. These programs are supported by grants from silicon valley clean energy, the legacy san jose - alviso youth foundation, and valley water, along with community donations that help fill program funding gaps. Special projects include internship pathways with bart and stem career exploration, connecting students to real workforce experience. In 2024, more than 70 students completed community impact projects, contributing over 1,200 hours of service, and over 30 students received official recognition and commendations from the california state legislature, santa clara county, san mateo county, and the city of san jose for their leadership and service.

Music programs currently, we offer violin and band classes across various schools, including happy mozart music school, and provide free music programs during our summer camps. The music program continues to grow each year, inspiring more students to participate in band, orchestra, and concert performances while developing confidence, discipline, and a lifelong appreciation for the arts.
