Concho Valley Community Action Agency

The agency provides a variety of housing programs to assist both individuals experiencing homelessness and those who are at risk of becoming homeless. Utilizing multiple funding sources, the agency assists homeless households with either finding safe, temporary shelter, or by helping those households be placed into permanent housing. For those at risk of homelessness in 2024, program services supported 318 households to remain in their homes by avoiding eviction and even avoiding foreclosure in some instances.

The weatherization assistance program provides energy conservation measures such as weather stripping, insulation, and the replacement of inefficient appliances. Through these efforts, which have a lifespan of 15 years, the program lowers energy bills for low-income households, keeps homes cool in the summer and warm in the winter, and reduces the load on our energy grid. In 2024, the agency updated 65 homes throughout the community.

Community services block grant - provides comprehensive assistance to the agency. Through this comprehensive agency assistance, low-income persons are assisted in making the transition out of poverty and are educated on services available to them through other service providers. This program served 7,817 individuals during 2024.
