Mission
The purposes of the corporation are charitable, educational and scientific purposes within the meaning of section 501(c)(3) of the internal revenue code of 1986, as amended, including but not limited to the promotion of understanding of gastrointestinal (gi) microbiology, physiology, immunology and nutritional sciences as they relate to the health and well being of domesticated and wild herbivores, non-ruminant animals and people. The corporation also promotes the understanding of host-microbe interactions, pre- and pro-biotics, and antibiotic resistance in relation to gi technologies as they apply to the study of gi microbial ecosystems. ("omics" technologies include, but are not limited to, metagenomics, metatranscriptomics, proteomics, and metabolomics.)
