Management of connecticut's old state house in partnership with the connecticut general assembly. A former connecticut state capitol from 1796 to 1878, the old state house now serves as a history museum and civics education lab for k-12 school groups and the general public. Ctdc also uses this historic site as a base of operations for public programming focused on bringing together history and civics and two major educational outreach programs: kid governor (kidgovernor.org) and connecticut history day (historydayct.org).

Public and educational outreach programming all connecticut democracy center educational initiatives are designed to inform and engage audiences of all ages, to give them the information and skills to be effective modern citizens in big and small ways. These include public programs delivered at connecticut's old state house and via webstream, as well as statewide outreach programs such as connecticut's kid governor and connecticut history day delivered directly to classrooms and other venues around connecticut.
