The program provides direct legal services at a reduced rate to several housing authorities, in connection with their ongoing corporate and regulatory compliance, real estate development projects, general procurement and other matters. Other paying clients include nonprofit community development corporations engaged in significant real estate development transactions, where CULI collects fees upon successful conclusion of the transaction (sometimes spanning several years).
The program provides several services to the University of Connecticut School of Law including a clinical education program for 2nd and 3rd year law students, who work closely with CULI staff attorneys to provide direct legal services.
