Advocate conservation and stewardship of our area's natural and cultural resources and advocate implementation of the smart growth policies that enable conservation for the benefit of present and future generations.

Desert livability - created a strong towns local conversation group and hosted 80+ attendees at 11 roundtable meetings focusing on bottom-up capacity building for strong, livable communities; commissioned an expert report highlighting local sustainable transportation options and presented results within the community; authored monthly educational publications on livability topics and elevated smart growth issues in local news via 3 press interviews; monitored community impacts at local planning and government meetings; met with community stakeholders and attended local stakeholder meetings conferences to expand program reach; and advocated for smart growth principles, including coordinated land use and transportation planning.

Water - organized parade of gardens southern utah for 500+ attendees to strengthen local water conservation culture; monitored impacts to local water resources and participated in important public comment periods (e.g. Warner valley reservoir); advocated for protection of the local watershed; educated and engaged 250+ people on water conservation principles at 2+ community presentations and events; advocated for water conservation in the local news via 4 press interviews; participated as a leader on the southwest advisory sub-council of the colorado river authority of utah and the virgin river watershed council; encouraged local officials and water managers to adopt sustainable water management practices.
