Universal Pre-Kindergarten (UPK) Mixed Delivery Planning Grant: Assist in planning for the provision of high-quality Universal PreKindergarten (UPK) options for three-four-year-old children in Riverside County, through a mixed-delivery system that ensures access to high-quality full and part-day learning experiences, coordinated services, and referrals for families to acess health and social- emotional support services.
Local Planning Council funds are used to fulfill the following legislative mandates as stated in AB 2141 from 1991: * Conduct an assessment of child care needs in the county no less than once every three years. * Prepare local countywide child care strategic plans designed to mobiize public and private resources to address identified needs. * Foster local partnerships with subsidized and non-subsidized providers, human service agencies, local and state children and families commissions, county welfare departments, regional centers, local child care resource and referral programs, job training programs, employers and parent organizations.
