Helmets to hardhats:working in tandem with the national office, helmets to hardhats helps introduce military veterans to career opportunities in construction. In june of 2024, the helmets to hardhats program moved to building strong communities, a 501c3 organization providing adult programming in the twin cities.
Learn2build:the intention of the learn2build program is to expose middle school students to career possibilities in construction. In 2024, the organization began developing curriculum for hands-on activities to offer to educators for implementation in their classrooms.
Educational outreach effortsccf strengthened their role as a resource for educators by convening teachers for professional development and collaborative learning, creating valuable opportunities to share insights, identify needs, and help ccf better support their efforts in the classroom. Ccf also offers classroom presentations, which feature guest speakers from the industry to share the vast career opportunities and pathways in construction, the wages and benefits, as well as their personal stories. The ccf website serves as a comprehensive resource hub, offering curated materials for educators, detailed information about careers in construction, and program highlights to support informed engagement from a student's broader support system.
Navigator:the trades navigator builds strong relationships with educators, trade schools, unions, and industry partners to support youth as they transition into registered apprenticeship programs, technical education, additional preparation training, or employment. This personalized approach ensures students have the guidance and tools necessary to pursue and sustain careers in construction.
