Industry technical research and development - technical management and administration of pre-competitive scientific research and development projects to address near to mid-term opportunities for the use and application of copper and copper alloy products and technologies. Current projects include scientific research on: machinability of brass rod; use of copper in green & healthy buildings and general environmental issues and impact; corrosion control in copper piping systems; improving safety, reliability, resiliency and efficiency of electrical energy and alternative energy systems.

Industry communications - promotional and advocacy activity to: highlight the quality, performance, and effectiveness of copper and copper alloy products; establish the importance and necessity of copper-based products and technology in everyday life. Communications activity is in support of overall market development and educating decision makers on the copper industry's impact on the environment; advancing innovation, the economy, sustainable energy and it's contributions to society.
