Mission
The cougar fund protects the cougar (also known as a mountain lion, puma, and panther) throughout the americas by educating children and adults on the value of cougars, by funding and promoting the use of sound science, and by monitoring state policies to assure a lasting place for this graceful creature.

Research is an important resource for cougar management. The cougar fund has spent staff time examining proposals for research funding, and is developing a protocol to be able to offer assistance in the future. Our emphasis will be on the latest methods of technology, especially those including non-invasive monitoring and data collection.
