The Smart Babies program provides parents of children ages 0-5 with skills to become the best first teachers for their babies. Parents attend three workshops to learn effective, age-specific methods to help their babies minds develop. They also receive tools, toys, and books to use with their children. The program assists with developing language and literacy, math and reasoning, and social and emotional learning, among other targets, using the Ready for Kindergarten curriculum.

Books to Children - during fiscal year 2025, we provided 4,700 new books to children through the Childrens Enrichment Program. We also provided 1,129 new books and 1,230 nearly-new books to other nonprofit organizations in our community to distribute to the children they serve. Literacy research shows a correlation between the number of age appropriate books a child has at home and the number of years of school that child will complete. Having books to hold and peruse helps children to learn skills such as the relationship between pictures and story, as well as the orientation and direction of print.

The Living Room provided 86 families with furniture and household goods during FY25, free of charge, to help them through periods of crisis.

Community Outreach provided organizations in our community with the ability to utilize our building for meetings/events 85 times during FY25.

Songs and Stories in Honor of Helen Lewis is an annual event we host to celebrate life in Appalachia through music and storytelling.

Through Summer Sendoff, we provide CEP students with materials to bridge the learning gap that can occur in the summer months.

Craddock Cares-we gave 93 kits to emergency personnel for people in crisis; Welcome Newborn-we provided kits to mothers of newborns.
