Mission
Creasey mahan nature preserve is a public charity established in 1975 through the legacy of virginia creasey mahan and howard mahan, serving 60,000 visitors annually. The nature preserve is a 170-acre family-friendly destination with nine miles of hiking trails, camping, waterfalls, springs, an educational nature center, a historic mahan manor, spring house, two-acre woodland garden featuring native wildflowers and ferns, an ada-accessible forest friends' playground, and special events throughout the year. Environmental educational offerings include thrive forest school - a nature-immersion preschool -- and thrive summer camp, afternoon adventurers (afterschool program), monthly naturalist-led hikes, and school field trips.
