Mission

To cultivate a supportive online community for youth ages 13-24 ages 13-24 & their caregivers while they navigate the challenges of chronic pain.

Programs

Creative healing experiences to help youth "unstick" their "sticky neural loop" are offered in the form of monthly, on-demand workshops. The programs in this area are developed through the application of scientifically backed research and studies that focus on harnessing the power of the creative brain to reduce pain response and increase neuroplasticity, resulting in positive outcomes. A two-week virtual summer camp is also part of the creative healing component, as teens ages 13-18 experience are guided through live creative healing workshops and experiences as well as exposure to mind-body connection techniques such as mindfulness practice, yoga, breathwork, and self-care.

Chyp provides a peer community to support both youth and parents navigating the landscape of chronic pain. Community connection plays a crucial role in the biopsychosocial model proven to result in positive outcomes. Through monthly "chypchats" specific to parent and youth groups, participants can connect with others on a drop-in basis who are experiencing the same issues, provide support, tips, be "understood- and validated. Creating bonds for parents is another program that provides community and guided conversations with a mental health professional in a non-clinical capacity to small parent groups in 8 week cohorts.
