Programs
2 programs
From Food to Finances (Pantry): From Food to Finances (F3) is Crossroads' 6-month Market education program that seeks to help underserved families become food secure by connecting them with resources to gain or regain household stability through food resources, nutrition coaching, and SNAP referrals. Participants create nutritional plans, track health goals, and improve dietary changes throughout the course of the 6-month program. After taking part in our nutrition coaching, individuals also have the opportunity to participate in financial coaching with one of our partners to gain greater household stability. By the time our shoppers complete the F3 program they can potentially achieve marginal or high food security, adopt some healthier habits, and improve their financial capability and practices.
Community Market at Redbird (Partner Relations): In partnership and collaboration with neighboring healthcare providers (UT Southwestern, Parkland Health, Children's Health), the Community Market at Redbird will address the needs of people living with food insecurity and chronic disease in a smaller scale market at The Shops at Redbird. With a goal of creating pathways from food insecurity to improved health behaviors shoppers that are referred to the Community Market at Redbird by our healthcare partners will undergo our traditional market experience of check-in, intake, and our survey, but will go through a guided order and shopping experience with a nutrition coach that will encourage, nudge, and even tailor food selections based on their health needs.
