Mission
Advance the science of jurisprudence, promote the administration of justice, encourage thorough and continuing legal education, uphold the honor and dignity of the bar, encourage the fulfillment of the obligations of the profession among its members to the courts and to society, promote programs to provide effective, affordable legal services to all segments of society, cultivate cordial intercourse among the members of the association and perpetuate the history of the profession and the memory of its members and such kindred purposes as the association may from time to time determine.
Programs

Pro bono programs - the association provides legal services to 50 to 100 clients annually, who are screened for eligibility by the harrisburg office of midpenn legal services. This number includes people who are assisted by the association's legal clinics in a variety of practice areas, including custody, driver's license restoration, and more.
Lawyer referral program - the dauphin county bar association's lawyer referral program annually assists more than 1,200 people who call for help in finding an attorney appropriate for their legal needs. Attorneys who participate in the referral program pay 100 annually to receive referrals. If a case results, the attorneys further agree to pay a ten percent referral fee back to the association from fees earned. Members of the public who use the referral program are charged a fee to receive a 30- minute consultation with the referred attorney, which may or may not result in a client relationship with that attorney.
