Independent living services the independent living program provides support and services to individuals with disabilities residing in morris, sussex and warren counties which enables them to access benefits and programs for which they may be eligible and to acquire the necessary functional life, social, self-advocacy, and employment readiness skills to assist them in maintaining their independence and reside in the community of their choice.on november 10, 2021, the administration for community living (acl) announced a $150 million investment to expand the public health workforce within the aging and disability networks. The purpose and intent of the funds distributed through acl was intended to "expand the public health workforce within the aging and disability networks." as a result of this initiative, dawncil envisioned a plan to support the counties of morris, sussex, and warren by partnering with experts in the field of the public health workforce to foster a partnership that would not only identify barriers to the public health system, but also to create a methodology for eliminating those barriers. Ther goal was to provide technical assistance regarding the needs of the disability community to the existing public health workforce and build the capacity of those individuals entering the field of public health. This funding will be end by 9/30/2025. During the fiscal year the cil implemented service delivery from its mobile office to reach clients and services partners in rural sussex and warren counties. The acquisition of this mobile office was inspired by the concerns presented to the management from consumers and staff regarding barriers to public transportation and the distance needed to travel to access services. As a consumer driven organization, responding to these concerns is an essential piece of our mission. These rural areas are supported with limited transportation options and physical service provision facilities. The cil has seen growth within this program and will continue its services in the upcoming fiscal year.

Ddd support coordination: division of developmental disabilities ("ddd") support coordination program the support coordination program provides coordination and implementation of an individualized support plan detailing use of an approved budget which is assessed and allocated by the state of new jersey ddd. This budget enables individuals to purchase goods and services needed to remain in the community and work towards a goal of competitive integrated employment. These services are provided to individuals ages 21 and above with developmental disabilities residing in morris, sussex, and somerset counties.

Step-up - student transition empowerment project unlimited possibilities (step-up) is a program created by dawncil, designed to comply with and provide pre-employment transition services to meet or exceed the requirements of the workforce innovation and opportunity act (wioa). Eligible students are those in the 14-21 age group having either an iep or a 504 plan providing non-curriculum based accommodations. In all cases students will be identified by our administration and must be eligible for dvrs services. Upon completion of the classroom-based curriculum students may be eligible for a 40-hour internship. Step-up provides a comprehensive curriculum designed to provide a system of structured employment readiness services which give students with disabilities opportunities and the tools to make a successful transition from high school to additional education, training, or competitive integrated employment.
