Programs

The Ascension Music Program fosters creative expression and personal development through music production live performances and digital storytelling. This initiative provides access to professional-grade recording equipment mentorship from industry professionals and performance opportunities for emerging artists. This year Ascension facilitated 12 recording sessions hosted 3 open mic events and supported 12 youth artists in producing and distributing their original music. The program has become a vital platform for artistic expression and community-building.
Community AF is a solutions-driven journalism and multimedia program designed to amplify underrepresented voices and shift narratives within marginalized communities. Through investigative storytelling digital content production and community reporting this initiative trains local residents to document social issues and advocate for systemic change. Over the past year Community AF has published 1 solutions journalism articles produced 1 multimedia projects and trained 12participants in journalism video production and digital storytelling.
Authentic Youth Engagement Training for Philadelphia Public Defenders : This program provides specialized training for Philadelphia public defenders on effectively engaging and advocating for system-impacted youth. Through interactive workshops and case-based learning defenders gain skills in trauma-informed advocacy youth-centered defense strategies and community-based alternatives to incarceration.
Youth Action Board Curriculum Development & Training We developed a structured curriculum to support the leadership and advocacy efforts of the Youth Action Board equipping young leaders with skills in policy advocacy organizing and civic engagement. The training empowers youth with lived experience to influence systemic change in the juvenile justice system
