Mission
The mission of the museum is to inspire a local, national, and international culture of peace. The museum helps people of all ages learn nonviolent ways to achieve peace. Located in downtown dayton, the museum honors the 1995 dayton peace accords ending violence in bosnia.
Programs
2 programs
Program service 2: community engagement and events objective (current year): to convene diverse communities for dialogue, reflection, and collaborative action on peace and justice issues. Long-term goal: to build a resilient civic network that advances equity, inclusion, and nonviolent conflict resolution in dayton and beyond. Achievements: organized 22 public events, including peace forums, film screenings, interfaith panels, and youth-led workshops. Partnered with 14 local organizations including universities, faith groups, and environmental coalitions. Facilitated 3 civic roundtables on climate justice, racial equity, and constitutional reform, with over 300 participants. Launched a monthly peacebuilders circle with consistent attendance and growing community leadership.
Program service 3: youth empowerment and emotional intelligence objective (current year): to equip youth with tools for emotional resilience, empathy, and collaborative problem-solving. Long-term goal: to scale evidence-based peace education programs that reduce bullying and foster inclusive school cultures nationwide. Achievements: delivered 8 school-based workshops on emotional intelligence, conflict resolution, and peace leadership. Engaged over 250 students across 5 schools in dayton and kettering. Piloted a peace literacy curriculum in collaboration with educators and psychologists. Collected pre/post survey data to evaluate impact on empathy, teamwork, and self-regulation.
