Mission
Deafinitely dogs is a nonprofit organization that enriches the lives of individuals with visible and invisible disabilities by increasing their independence through the placement of highly trained service dogs. Each dog is trained to meet the specific needs of the individual, promoting autonomy and improving quality of life through the power of the human- canine bond. We place service dogs for individuals that are deaf or hard of hearing, and ptsd/psychiatric conditions with veterans being our primary placements but also serving civilians. Deafinitely dogs also places professionally trained facility dogs with mental health providers and organizations to support animal-assisted therapy and interventions. These dogs bring nonjudgmental companionship and comfort to therapeutic environments, enhancing client engagement and emotional well-being.
Programs
3 programs
Facility dog program - deafinitely dogs places highly trained facility dogs with mental health professionals and organizations to assist in therapeutic settings. These dogs support clients by providing emotional grounding, reducing anxiety, and enhancing engagement during therapy sessions. Each facility dog is matched based on the specific needs of the professional and the population they serve, including youth, veterans, and individuals with trauma-related disorders. The program strengthens therapeutic outcomes through the integration of skilled canine partners into mental health practices.
Super puppy raiser program - the super puppy raiser program recruits and trains volunteer puppy raisers, including individuals and participants from partnered college programs, to prepare future service dogs for their roles. Puppy raisers provide early socialization, basic obedience, and exposure to various environments, laying the foundation for advanced service dog training. The program also fosters community engagement and education around service dog work, while giving students and volunteers hands-on experience in animal behavior, training, and disability support services.
Includes expenses related to the daily operations and administrative functions required to support the organization's programs and mission.
