The Delaware Multicultural and Civic Organization DEMCO, Inc. is a non- profit organization dedicated to the ideals of providing clients with an experienced staff and team of consultants in the area of elementary and secondary education, adult literacy, social and professional higher education, and continuing education. It is the goal of DEMCO to heighten and promote educational, economic and social stability through the provision of such tutorial services, academic programming, social and economic development. Guiding Good Choices GGC: GGC is a drug use prevention program that provides parents of children in grades 4 through 8 9 to 14 years old with the nowledge and skills needed to guide their children through early adolescence. It seeks to strengthen and clarify family expectations for behavior, enhance the conditions that promote bonding within the family, and teach skills that allow children to resist drug-use successfully.
Shape Prevention Plus Wellness: Is a brief intervention program designed to reduce drug abuse and increase positive mental and physical health outcomes among college students ages 18-25. This program was administered this program to Delaware State University DSU students.
Keepin' it REAL : Is a multicultural, substance-use prevention program for students 12-14 years old that uses a 10-lesson curriculum. The curriculum acesspecial emphasis on resistance strategies represented in the acronym REAL: Refuse offers to use substances, Explain why you do not want to use substance void situations in which substances are used, and Leave situations in which substances are used.
Active Parenting of Teens: Families in Action: This program employs a family systems approach in which families attend sessions and learn skills.
