Mission
The mission of the Delaware Psychological Association is to promote the profession of psychology and enhance and improve the quality of life for Delawareans.We do this through public and professional educational programs, by supporting high ethical standards and integrity for psychologists, and by working collaboratively with other groups to affect positive change in individuals, groups, and the community. We are committed to promoting psychology across the state and nationally through our voting membership in the American Psychological Association.

The DPA was awarded the third of three installments in 2024 by the American Rescue Plan Act to support psychologists, licensed mental health clinicians and healthcare providers with trainings specific to COVID related trauma, including assessment, treatment and prevention planning. This funding will continue be used to support the public with psychoeducational resources pertaining to COVID related trauma and long COVID ending in May of 2025.
The Delaware Psychological Association (DPA) has enjoyed tremendous growth and success over the past several years. Since 2017, overall membership in the DPA has grown with an increase of 63%. DPA also offers Institutional Memberships for groups of 8 or more psychologists, licensed clinicians and nurse practitioners.
