Mission
The primary purpose of Delaware Valley Orienteering Association ("DVOA") is education regarding, and the promotion of, the sport of orienteering, including conducting recreational and competitive orienteering events, instruction, training and educational programs. DVOA is a Pennsylvania nonprofit corporation and is a tax-exempt Section 501(c)(3) organization. DVOA is an all-volunteer organization. In 2024, DVOA conducted 42 local orienteering events, 1 three-day National Ranking Event, 12 scheduled instructional events (including the Saturday of Training Weekend), all open to members and the general public, with a total of 4,131 starts for the year (3,190 at local orienteering events and 931 at the three-day National Ranking Event). Instruction is offered at each local orienteering event. Members individually conducted 38 educational/instructional programs with a total of 366 participants. DVOA maintains 26 permanent courses in three States.
