Delta dental of minnesota foundation is organized and shall be operated exclusively for charitable, educational, and scientific purposes exclusively for the benefit of, to perform the functions of, or to carry out the public health purpose of the delta dental supported organizations in minnesota and initially for dental public health.

The foundation distributes dental kits free of charge to 1st grade students in minnesota. Schools apply for kits in the fall and the foundation works with outside vendors to procure kits. During 2024, more than 53,000 kits were delivered to 643 schools based on fall 2023 enrollment.
