Mission

The project is a grassroots organization whose volunteer members secure the necessary resources to provide free medical care, potable water, agricultural training, education, and other critical services for the people of denan, ethiopia and the surrounding villages and to other impoverished communities in peru, and mongolia.

Programs

2 programs

Peru-the project built a health facility in the small, high andean town of uratari, which opened in august 2010. The health facility provides medical and dental care, education and medical outreach programs, and provides mirco-loans to organized groups to help them start cottage industries. The health ministry has since taken over this location and the project is no longer supporting this location. In 2019 the project established a free boarding school in uratari peru in order to give children from small surrounding towns, where there are no high schools, an opportunity to receive a higher education. In august 2024, a new health center was opened in cusibamba which provides medical and dental care, education and medical outreach programs, and provides micro-loans to organized groups to help them start cottage industries.

Mongolia - since october 2011, the project has provided funding and medical equipment to a hospital in tariat, arkhangai province, and since 2015 to an additional hospital in erdenemandal, also in arkhangai. Support includes equipment and training for doctors in cardiology, pediatrics, internal medicine, anesthesiology, dentistry, and public health, as well as fuel for healthpost doctors visiting remote herder encampments. Since 2022, the project has also supported chandmani hospital in gobi-altai, the country's poorest province, providing medical and dental equipment and funding for an ambulance to enhance emergency care. In 2024, the project extended assistance to zavkhan province, the coldest region in mongolia, through a new dental clinic at tudevtai hospital. In both tariat and chandmani, the project also supports medical clubs at local high schools to encourage students interested in health care careers.
