Scholarship grants - various individual recipients were selected to directly receive scholarships from derrick brooks charities. Recipients must have participated in the brooks bunch or first & goal program, maintained a 2.5 gpa or higher, be enrolled in at least 12 credit hours per semester, and maintain 20 hours of community service per calendar year. An essay is also required each semester discussing how the semester went. See schedule i for more information.
Brooks bunch business boot camp - the purpose of the brooks bunch business boot camp is to empower students to make sound financial decisions and prepare them for a future of financial success and security. It was our desire to create a financial literacy program that would also focus on college readiness, community service and career exposure. Fifth third bank has partnered with dave ramsey in his foundations in personal finance curriculum to send a message to high school students nationwide in order to meet new financial literacy standards. Derrick brooks charities and fifth third bank in partnership offers students the opportunity to learn how to: -save money and build wealth -negotiate great deals -establish budgets that will work from the present into the future including preparedness for college budgeting and beyond. -participate in career trainging/exposure -take part in educational field trips -learn the dangers of debt build a successful resume including information that will assist with college applications -take part in community service projects and team building exercises -be exposed to small and large business owners and entrepreneurs this class is available to 25 high school students per school year and is currently being held at brooks debartolo collegiate high school with hopes of expanding in the future.
Derrick brooks charities youth auxiliary rites of passage program (ropp) - the vision statement for the ropp is to empower and encourage young girls with morals and values that will last a lifetime, while building character that will enable them to transition into successful women.

The school works to help each student to reach their potential by providing a high quality, challenging education with rigorous and relevant curriculum, student will be equipped to make valuable and productive contributions
