The dcdc promotes member business development. Membership includes over 230 member businesses. We offer a dues structure that allows members to choose the tier of membership they can afford and what they would most benefit from. The dcdc ambassadors welcomed new businesses to dewitt, celebrated spotlight on successes for existing business growth, and participated in ground breakings to celebrate new construction. We recognized outstanding members in our "member choice awards" that allows members and the community to cast their vote in different categories of business excellence and personal community volunteerism. Membership after hours events were held promoting networking between prospective and active members. New member packets are distributed and quarterly dcdc 101 information sessions are held for new members, prospective members, and new member business representatives. The annual golf bash fundraiser was held raising nearly 8,000 to fund dcdc initiatives. The dcdc member newsletter "chamber link" is sent to members on a quarterly basis.
The dcdc works to improve branding, awareness, and public relations for the dewitt community. Business and community members are able to post events to our free online calendar, which populates our digital sign at our community's busiest intersection. These events are also shared with over 2,000 subscribers in our our weekly "what's happening in dewitt" e- newsletter, and shared to 8,000+ followers on social media. Thousands of community guides and visitors brochures were distributed to residents, employees, and visitors. A "welcome to dewitt" program for new residents and employees continues to be offered. The program is also offered to potential new employees to better support our existing businesses as they work to attract a high-quality workforce. The dcdc partners with the eastern iowa tourism association, visit quad cities, and other regional chambers to promote community attractions and businesses to visitors. The dcdc website, dewittiowa.org, continues to be the primary dewitt community website. A local job posting function of the website is promoted and successfully utilized, it is the most viewed section of the website. Several community events were coordinated by the dcdc including summer movies in the park, autumn fest, santa visits, a hometown christmas weekend, a community wine & beer walk, and a weekly tunes in town concert series that fills our community park with 1,000+ people on tuesday nights from june-september.
Support existing businesses, attract new business, and assist in enhancing the quality of life for our community.
