The purpose of the corporation is to preserve the legacy and carry out the provision and spirit of dr. James lee dickey and the students of the blackshear and o.l. Price schools in taylor, texas in the following ways: to collect, preserve and exhibit documents and material objects relating to the history of the city of taylor and the local african american culture in art and history, educating through modern technology; to provide educational programs related to the local community and african american culture in art and history; to officer instructional classes and to provide a facility and grounds that showcases "green" environmental practices, health and wellness programs, education seminars and workshops, volunteer opportunities, support groups, special events, meeting space/private rental space and individual/family services; to oversee the preservation of the home of dr.
