To promote and develop the thought of Dietrich von Hildebrand, a 20th century Catholic philosopher, as well as the broader tradition of Christian personalism, through channels including publications, seminars, and digital media.

Programs

Academic: The Hildebrand Project supports the engagement and study of Hildebrand and the tradition of Christian personalism through a range of programs. (1) We held our 14th annual Summer Seminar on the topic The Challenge of Community, with 50+ participants in person, and more than 100 registered virtual participants. (2) We held our annual summer Graduate Residency, welcoming 15 graduate students in Steubenville to hone their philosophical writing with academic mentors. (3) We provided two scholarships for MA philosophy students at Franciscan University of Steubenville. (4) We organized a weekend colloquium on Personalism and Communio Metaphysics at St. Bernard's School of Theology and Ministry in Rochester, NY. (5) We hosted two advanced invitation-only reading groups of eight sessions each, one on Disenchantment (Spring 2024), and a second on the philosophies of Gabriel Marcel and Dietrich von Hildebrand (Fall 2024).

Education and Outreach: (1) To serve audiences new to Hildebrand, we hosted 6 online reading groups for 139 participants. (2) We launched the archival podcast Lily: The Voice of Alice von Hildebrand, a weekly series featuring newly edited-for-podcast recordings of classic content by Alice von Hildebrand. (3) Public events, including our annual summer seminars, are filmed and presented on the Hildebrand Project's YouTube channel (www.hildebrandproject.org). (4) The Hildebrand Project communicates regularly with our social media followers and our email list.
