Veterans outdoors program: the dav of mn outdoors program provides veterans with recreational therapy through outdoor events to positively engage veterans, increase their strength and endurance, and ultimately enhance their quality of life. The outdoors program advances the strong tradition of supporting veterans through the bounty of nature. Body, mind, and soul are considered when designing outdoor programming for veterans. This fiscal year 18% of grants awarded were in support of outdoor programs.
Transportation: the dav of mn transportation program provides free transportation to veterans attending medical appointments. As a social determinant of health, access to high-quality, affordable transportation is fundamental to mental, physical, and emotional well-being. Over 23,000 veterans were transported to vital medical appointments in the last fiscal year.
