The Distributed Wind Energy Association is a collaborative group comprised of manufacturers, distributors, project developers, dealers, installers, and advocates whose primary mission is to promote and foster all aspects of the U.S. distributed wind industry.

Education/Educational Outreach: Educate the public and consumers on distributed wind energy. DWEA has maintained its website and developed other products to accomplish educational goals. DWEA participated in briefings for Congressional staff for education on technology and applications related to distributed wind energy. DWEA held an annual conference.
Technical Support: DWEA established AgWind with a website and a free wind system performance and economics tool (which was in development in 2023)
