Community wellness, safety and networking: focus is on providing a safe, clean and beautiful welcoming environment for all who visit and rent space at our convenient resource hub in the heart of the northside of kalamazoo. Partnership and collaboration with a plethora of organizations and businesses for programming and events is a norm, many of which take place at dca . On-site security provides a strong sense of safety and reassurance for all visitors. This presence helps deter crime, manage conflicts, and respond quickly to emergencies, creating a secure environment where people can focus on enjoying programs and services. Security officers also provide respectful greetings and general assistance, ensuring that the center remains a welcoming space for families, youth, and seniors alike. A peaceful atmosphere is maintained that encourages community engagement and trust. The success of all activities is incumbent upon safety being a priority.
Rental income and facilities: the organization leases space to nine other non-profit organizations. The dca is a community center that is a convenient hub of organizations and services to/for many in the community. Spaces are also available to rent for meetings and special events. Maintenance of the building and grounds are a priority for maintaining a welcoming and dignified place for the community.
