Mission

The dove project is a domestic violence and sexual assault agency that provides survivor services, prevention education and community programming in an effort to reduce interpersonal harm.

Programs

3 programs

Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Advocacy: Provided 1181 direct support interventions to survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault, including crisis intervention, safety planning, advocacy with legal and social service systems, and support groups. This involved securing temporary restraining orders or other legal protections for survivors and assistance in finding safe and stable housing. We developed and presented educational materials and trainings on domestic violence, sexual assault, and healthy relationships to community organizations such as the Food Bank and the Vashon Fire and Rescue.

Expenses: $171K

Prevention Education Services: Delivered prevention education trainings, activities, and clubs to over 700 students in schools and community groups, through programs like Lunchbox, Teen Council, CareClub, and sponsorship of the GSA club. This also includes the Circles in Schools program that offers social-emotional support at the Elementary, Middle, and High Schools. The Teen Council group was the largest yet, with 12 members, and they taught their peers not only at Vashon Middle School and Vashon High School, but also expanded to the Harbor School, a local private school. Topics of education are health relationships, safe dating, mental health, cyber safety, body image, and healthy boundaries.
