The nil (name, image, and likeness) collective, a dach initiative commencing in 2024, is a groundbreaking program that empowers student-athletes to make a positive impact in the local communities while simultaneously building their personal brands and potentially earning compensation. Through the nil collective, student-athletes from the university of hawaii rainbow warriors and rainbow wahine teams have the opportunity to participate in events and activities that promote literacy, health, and well-being among children and families in the local community.
The downtown athletic club of hawaii (dach), with a $325,000 grant from the maui strong fund of the hawaii community foundation (hcf), awarded scholarships to 13 lahainaluna high school and 1 maui prep academy class of 2024 graduates who will be attending colleges out of state starting in the fall of 2024. The scholarship funding provided can be used towards tuition, housing, meals, and other school-related needs. These graduates will be attending schools such as ucla, washington state university, oregon state university, the university of nevada-las vegas, grand canyon university, and portland state university.
