The corporation is organized for charitable, religious, scientific, literary, or educational purposes within the meaning of section 501(c)(3) of the internal revenue code of 1986 (the code), and the texas tax code, section 11.18. In particular the corporation shall operate as an organization in support of fund raising for the historic preservation, revitalization and development of downtown elgin through the national main street four point approach supporting responsible repurposing of historic structures, new construction that supports mixed use development, events, programming and marketing for the downtown area.
