Provides for advertising and promotions of a farmers market. Operations for the market are handled by the city of overland park. Promotions included banners, media, demonstrations and musical entertainment. Demonstrations were held for canning and cooking.

Mayors tree lighting annual ceremony that brings in a tree to be lit for the holidays. Christmas lights are also strung throughout the downtown area. Promotes holiday shopping for local vendors. This event is attended by visitors and local patrons and includes hayrides, musical entertainment, and food. Other events are the fall festival and halloween trick-or- treat.
