The mission of drums in recovery is to utilize rhythm as a tool to cultivate musical, personal, and social harmony within diverse communities. Our programs foster interpersonal skills and healthy lifestyles for people in these communities, helping them gain self-esteem, social acceptance and healing from personal struggles.

Drumbeat uses a structured, formal curriculum to present a ten-week course with core strategies and goals, ending with an awards ceremony and a team performance. It uses a building block strategy to lead participants to assess their values and learn behavioral skills. We adapt our core program to meet the specific needs of each community we serve.
