Interpretation and education:leave no child inside (lnci) is the umbrella program of dopc's environmental education programming, which offers hands-on outdoor learning to participants from early childhood through young adulthood. It was created to support dopc's three-pronged mission to restore, promote, and maintain dumbarton oaks park. Since inception, the leave no child inside program has reached 7002 students from a diversity of backgrounds throughout greater washington d.c. And facilitated over 25,065 program hours. (continued on schedule o)(continued from page 2, interpretation and education)dopc works in collaboration with dc public schools throughout wards 1 - 8, independent schools, local universities, ged programs, and in partnership with the jelleff boys & girls club. Dumbarton oaks park conservancy engages all students, including those placed at-risk by their circumstances. The programming aims to transform the way dumbarton oaks park is used and understood by the surrounding community and throughout the greater washington area. The park offers history, inspiration, education, and a stage for endless hours of play. Within the leave no child inside program, dopc offers blossoms & bloomers, landscape by design, and dumbarton explorers. All programming emphasizes education, recreation, and stewardship, and provides a diversity of children with opportunities to connect with the outdoors, experience the joys of environmental stewardship, and have fun in the process. Dopc also offers adult education opportunities and events. In partnership with local universities and subject area experts, dopc hosts an annual lecture and field practicum on topics germane to garden preservation. The park serves as an outdoor learning laboratory for dopc to present robust environmental education programming that engages stewardship and supporters who will promote and maintain the park. Leave no child inside programs are offered free of charge and are aligned to the next generation science standards and the guidelines for universal design for learning. In 2024, the breadth of the interpretation and education projects initiated, funded, and completed are the following:3920 leave no child inside education programming hours facilitated free of charge. These hours are 3768 more than contributed in 2023.707 youth from schools and universities from throughout the greater washington area engaged in dopc's leave no child inside volunteer program. 250 youth from district of colombia's public schools engaged in dopc's leave no child inside education program. 9 leave no child inside environmental education interns.4 artists in residence creating art inspired by the park.2 post graduate fellows dedicated to the leave no child inside education and project management.the list below represents a sampling of the adult program engagements that dopc's board of directors, advisory board, staff, and artist in residence were active in promoting the park, the stream valley project, and dopc's mission through lectures, articles, presentations, and art exhibits throughout 2024:- dumbarton explorers annual haunted hike with artist in residence bill adair and washington spirit women's soccer team members gilding soccer balls for an afternoon of outdoor fun with the kids.- american society of landscape architects 2024 insight conference awarded dumbarton oaks & dumbarton oaks park conservancy the opportunity to co-present landscape architecture field tours. Speakers: thaisa way, jonathan kavalier, lindsey milstein, and liza gilbert.- dumbarton oaks and dumbarton oaks park site tours for the nps employees stand down suicide prevention day. Speakers: lindsey milstein and mj garcia.- dumbarton oaks park conservancy and larry weaner landscape associates lecture and field practicum on historic rhododendron revitalization for georgetown garden club members.- dumbarton oaks park walking tour for royal botanical garden of edinburgh leadership. Speakers: liza gilbert.- dumbarton oaks park site tour for arbnet program.- leadership initiative organization cybersecurity and defense program internship engaged dopc leadership in a case study workshop.
