Mission
Dzanc Books was hailed as the future of publishing in Publishers Weekly in December 2007. Beginning with modest goals of publishing 4-6 titles each year, the house now publishes between 10-15 books annually. Notable and award-winning authors include Laura van den Berg (2009 Barnes & Noble Discover Great New Writers Pick), Charles Johnson (National Book Award), Chaya Bhuvaneswar (PEN/Bingham Award finalist), Josip Novakovich (finalist for the 2013 Man Booker International Prize), and Lee Martin (Pulitzer Prize finalist). Were exceptionally proud of all weve accomplished in the 17 years since our founding. Weve published over 224 original works, including poetry, fiction, nonfiction, and memoir. Weve restored more than 290 titles that were either out of print or unavailable by creating ebooks through our rEprint series. Weve published 87 debut authors and supported many mid-career authors looking personal investment they cant find with the Big Five.
