Mission

To operate a prekindergarten-8th grade public school under contract w/ baltimore city public schools. Elmer a. Henderson: a johns hopkins partnership school's mission is to unleash students' joy and passion while preparing them for academic success and fulfillment in a rapidly changing world. Our vision is that henderson hopkins will be a model school for the country by providing every student with an excellent education.

Health and wellness: ensuring that our students are healthy and safe is one of henderson-hopkins' key priorities. Henderson-hopkins continued to use second step, a social-emotional learning curriculum, across elementary grade levels and rhithm, an sel curriculum, in middle school grades. The school partnered with positive school center to train all staff in supporting youth through restorative practices lens.

Strengthening community: henderson-hopkins strives to be a pillar in the east baltimore community. Henderson-hopkins continues a bi-weekly food distribution that began over the covid-19 pandemic and still operates today. Open to anyone in the community, henderson-hopkins has served over 2 million pounds of food to 65,000 families. In this and other ways, henderson-hopkins has made a commitment to serving the east baltimore neighborhood.
