The workforce development committee focuses on building a skilled, inclusive, sustainable workforce for the petrochemical and energy industries in the houston region.
The emergency management committee coordinates and collaborates emergency management ideas and processes with industrial members and responsible agencies for the overall wellbeing and safety of our communities.
The scholarship proceeds are now managed and distributed by dream it do it (didi). Ehcma supports these initiatives through collaboration and event support as part of its mission to promote workforce development and community engagement. The security committee benchmarks and communicates best security practices to members in association with local, state, and federal law enforcement. Serves as a rapid conduit of information between law enforcement and companies, aiming to reduce the likelihood of adverse effects on employees, community, and the environment due to criminal acts. The environmental committee benchmarks successful environmental practices between member companies and addresses special projects as requested by ehcmas board of directors. The best practices committee is charged with promoting safety, sustainability and excellence in the chemical and refining industries by identifying, developing and communicating to member companies best practices across all aspects of manufacturing, handling and distribution. The creation and sharing of best practices is the cornerstone of ehcmas mission. Topics including the digitalization of health, safety and environmental processes, human factors, new legislation and emergency response are ever evolving and require ongoing assessment and communication to the benefit of our members and the surrounding community. The membership and outreach committee supports the growth and engagement of ehcmas member organizations and fosters positive relationships within the community; also promotes awareness of ehcmas mission, leads membership development initiatives and advances outreach efforts that highlight the value and impact of industry in east harris county.
