The Society is dedicated to promoting excellence in sociological scholarship and instruction. The Society publishes a professional journal -Sociological Forum- convenes an Annual 4 day General Meeting, Hosts numerous Awards Competitions,an employment forum and maintains an extensive mailing list of 11,000 names.

Journalism The Society publishes an award winning peer-reviewed journal, Sociological Forum, that is committed to high quality, cutting edge research on substantive issues of fundamental importance to the study of society. The Journal keeps members and prospective members abreast of significant events within the society. The Journal generates grants and royalties from various sources.
