To promote economic development in aiken and edgefield counties in south carolina.

Alliance - each year, the state of south carolina department of commerce notifies edp (and other regional development organizations) of amounts available to them. In order to receive the full amount available, edp must match the amount in private contributions. The funds received from the state do not have specific restrictions; they just have to be related to economic development.
