To partner with all aspects of the community in creating opportunities for low income families to become self-sufficient and own a stake in their communities.

Programs

5 programs

The Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) helps low-income households meet the costs of cooling/ heating their homes. LIHEAP offers 2 programs: Home Energy and Crisis Energy. Home Energy funds are provided once a year and are based on the clients gross income and household size. Crisis funding is available when a client experiences a financial crisis. It helps keep electricity on, or restores it if needed. In the 2023fiscal year, EOC assisted over three thousand households with utility assistance.

The Voluntary Pre-Kindergarten program provides developmentally appropriate instruction and activities to prepare children for Kindergarten. This program includes 540 instructional hours over the course of the school year.

The Low Income Household Water Assistance Program (LIHWAP) helps low-income households

Community Service Block Grants The REACH Family Self-Sufficiency Program helps put an end to generational poverty one family at a time. It provides education and vocational training. Clients living at or near the poverty level learn to recognize their barriers to self-sufficiency and how to overcome them. REACH helps clients achieve their educational and vocational goals, earn a living wage, and move away from poverty and public assistance to financial self-sufficiency. In the 2023 Fiscal year, EOC successfully support over nine hundred people with rental, utilities, education and other career preparation expenses.

The USDA Child Care Food Program provides healthy food to the students in the Head Start program. Over the fiscal year 2022, EOC provided 22,617 Healthy Breakfasts, 19,986 Healthy Lunches, and 21,397 Healthy Snacks.
