Mission
The primary exempt purpose of the eicosanoid research foundation is to provide a forum for the dissemination of the latest scientific information on bioactive lipids in health and disease as it relates to cancer, inflamation and inflamation induced diseases such as cardiovascular, diabetes, psoriasis and alzheimer's. This purpose is accomplished through the organization's biennial conference. The eicosanoid research foundation sponsors biennial conferences highlighting data at the cutting edge of medical science. During these conferences new drugs and medications are discussed, data on clinical trials is examined and scientists from all over the world interact to enhance their collaborative research efforts. The goal of this meeting series is to promote the exchange of information and ideas among international scientists of diverse backgrounds. Annual wayne state university lipids symposium: the wayne state university lipids symposium addresses the vital roles of lipids in cellular processes required for normal physiological function. The 7th wsu lipids symposium was scheduled for may 13, 2020 in the student ballroom on the main campus of wayne state university. Due to the covid-19 pandemic, the event was canceled. The symposium has been suspended since that point, but is currently expected to resume in either 2023 or 2024. Previously, the (6th) wsu lipids symposium was held in the student center ballroom on the main campus of wayne state university on may 7, 2019 and was well attended.
